What we're looking for
Most internships put you in a corner fixing minor bugs. This one doesn't.
At Corplabs, interns work like junior forward-deployed engineers: you'll build on real client and product projects — including HiTerra, our flagship agritech platform for smart farming across Malaysia and Indonesia — sit in on client and stakeholder conversations, help manage project delivery, and keep documentation sharp — all while using modern AI-assisted engineering tools (Claude Code and agentic workflows) as part of your daily work.
We're looking for someone currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, who wants more than a coding-only internship — someone curious about how software actually gets shipped, sold, and supported.
What you'll actually do
- Build hands-on. Develop and maintain features on live projects — web apps, internal systems, and client deliverables — under the guidance of our engineers.
- Work forward-deployed. Join client meetings and calls, help gather requirements, clarify scope, and translate client needs into technical tasks.
- Engage real-world stakeholders. On our agritech work, you may interact with farmers, agronomists, project partners, and business teams — learning to communicate technical work to non-technical audiences.
- Manage delivery. Help track project progress, follow up on tasks, and keep timelines and stakeholders aligned.
- Own documentation. Clean up, structure, and maintain project documentation, system guides, and development notes in Notion — documentation is a first-class deliverable here, not an afterthought.
- Use AI tooling daily. Work with AI-assisted engineering workflows (Claude Code, structured planning/execution prompts) — you'll learn how a modern AI-native software team operates.
- Test and ship. Support functional testing, UAT, and deployment; identify, document, and report bugs alongside our QA team.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of programming and software development concepts — familiarity with TypeScript/JavaScript is a plus; any language (Python, Java, C#, PHP) as a foundation is fine.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, databases, and APIs is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Git/version control is an added advantage.
- Comfortable communicating — you'll talk to clients and teammates, not just your IDE.
- Organized and detail-oriented — you don't mind tidying up documents and keeping things structured.
- Willing to learn, take initiative, and work independently with minimum supervision.
What you'll walk away with
- Real shipped work on production systems — including a flagship agritech platform deployed in the field, not toy projects.
- Client-facing experience most interns never get.
- Hands-on fluency with AI-assisted development workflows — one of the most in-demand skills in the industry right now.
- A reference and portfolio that reflect end-to-end delivery: requirements → build → test → docs → handover.
